Here's a tip on picking/choosing pictures to vector:

It's easier to vector a high resolution picture than a low resolution one.

Do you know why it's easier? When you posterize it, you'll be able to manipulate the anchor points of your vectoring work in a better way. Not much strain, although there still is.

Oh how I wish I could get a graphics tablet to do art more easily!
